Our Message...
1. YOU NEED TO BE SAVED. "For all have sinned..." Romans 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord." Romans 6:23
2. YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us..."
Titus 3:5
3. CHRIST DIED TO SAVE YOU. "But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16
4. REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL MESSAGE. "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Luke 13:3 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Romans 10:9
Most people who claim to be a Christian today either believe they are saved and going to heaven because they think they are good and have done many good works like attend church on Easter and Christmas or because they prayed a prayer trusting that the pray saved them.
The truth is that a prayer never saved anyone. The only one that can save is Jesus Christ. You do not get saved through a prayer you get saved through repentence and Faith in Jesus Christ. If you beleive that a prayer saved you then you are trusting in works for salvation.
Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
What is in the heart coems out of the mouth not the other way around
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Notice it says with the heart
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Just for example: If you are setting in church and you want to go forward real bad to get saved that porbably means you are already repenting in your heart and when you ask Jesus to save you with your mouth that means you have already been saved.
There are alot of false teachers today who have turned Christianity into a cult when it comes to salvation. In the cults you have to say certain words in order to get your false god to do something. You can't flatter God with your words. What is important is what is in your heart that is why the Bible says ...shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Let me ask you some questions about the Bible when the teif on the cross cried out to Jeus to save him did Jesus lead the theif in a repeat after me prayer. The answer is no in fact the thief cried out to Jesus as a result of repentence and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember the Philipian jailer he asked Paul and Silas what must I do to be saved and they said beleive on the Lord Jesus Christ. Did Paul and Silas lead out in a repeat after me prayer? No. They told the jailer to believe. The reason why the jailer asked such a question is because he was repenting already he wanted to be saved. He repented, believed had faith that Jesus could save him and so Jerus saved him.
Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
When you call on the Lord it is a result of already believing. Calling on the Lord does not make you believe. This is why their are so many false converts in churches today and why there is so much liberalism in churches today.
I have talked with alot of people who doubt their salvation. They say something like this "I wonder if I said all the right words". You see they are not trusting Jesus to save them they are trusting words to save them; kind of like if you rub the bottle just right then you can get your Jeenie to come out of the bottle to work some kind of miracle for you.
