This is a sequel to the last article I put in the profile called "Christian Rock is Satan's Rock." I feel that the following subject needs to be addressed.
Let us ask ourselves a question. What type of lifestyles do many of the CCM (Christian Contemporary Music) artists and those who are involved in Christian rock lead?
I am almost 38 years old. I recall a time in my life when there was not very much conflict regarding music in the church. I remember when there was a distinct difference between Christian music and Rock and Roll. With the advent of Christian rock and CCM this distinction has been blurred and there seems to be so much confusion and conflict on this issue.
The Bible says in 1 Cor 14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
Anything that causes confusion is not of God.
James 3:16 "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work."
2 Tim 3:1 "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come."
2 Tim 3:2 "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,"
There are many CCM artists who want the glory and honor for themselves and are not humble. This is apparent when watching the attitude and characteristics of Carmen. He appears to be very arrogant in the way he presents himself. I have collected a lot of documentation regarding Carmen and his fleshly characteristics. I do not have time to record it all here, but if anyone is interested, I would be glad to share the information with you.
Satan loves the fact that a lot of the modern so-called Christian music does not bring honor and glory to the Lord. He loves the fact that we as Christians are for the most part involved in music and other aspects of our lives that are fleshly and carnal. When we are living in a fleshly and carnal state, then Satan can take us captive at his will.
2 Tim 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
1 Ki 18:21 "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word."
Many times CCM and Christian rock create false conversions. I have heard repeatedly from the CCM artists saying that there are many lives changed for Christ at their concerts. If this is the case, then why don't we see some sincere evidence of changed lives where the converts are really on fire for Christ and not ashamed of the gospel. True repentance causes us to change in our attitudes, actions, dress, lifestyle, etc. Many times you cannot even see a difference in the way Christians look or act as opposed to the world.
2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
2 Cor 6:17 "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."
If we are having a real revival in our country then why don't we see taverns, movie theaters, video stores, dance halls, and porno stores closing down? If Christian rock and CCM are doing such a wonderful job with our youth then why are we seeing so much immorality and violence in teens today? This compromising music is leaving us with more questions than answers which spells CONFUSION. 1 Cor 14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
According to a lot of the lyrics in CCM and Christian rock music, repentance and a change in lifestyle are not required. Oftentimes their message speaks of a compromising love and devotion to some god who they rarely define as Jesus Christ - the one who died to save us from our sins.
At this moment, I have in front of me the lyrics to some CCM and Christian rock songs written by Rez Band, Vengeance Rising, Sandi Patti, etc. and none of them teach a convicting message about genuine repentance from sin. In fact, they have a lot of New Age and ecumenical teachings. I can see how Satan is using this corrupt false Christian music to get all the so-called Christians to come together and lay down their doctrinal differences to help usher in the one-world church and one-world government that the Bible speaks of in Revelation. It is evident in our modern world that so-called Christianity is just one step behind the world. Why would someone who is lost have the desire to become a Christian if they do not see a distinct difference in the lives of Christians (the fruit of the Spirit).
Gal 5:22 - 26 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
It is sad to see how so many of these professional actors (so-called Christian musicians) are guilty of adultery, rape, child molestation, divorce, drunkenness, and pride.
The phrase rock and roll in itself has a filthy definition. It is defined as sexual intercourse according to Little Richard the inventor of Rock and Roll.
We as Christians definitely need our thinking challenged on many issues. We should always be willing to consider what others are saying and compare it with the Word of God. Here are some scriptures to challenge our thinking.
Jer 2:19 "Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts."
Jer 48:10 "Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood."
Mat 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
I have had the opportunity to collect a lot of documentation regarding CCM music and the lifestyles of the artists. These last few articles I have written in the profile can be backed up by this documentation. Many of the secular Rock and Roll artists would confirm what I am revealing about Rock and Roll. They are not trying to hide anything or blend in because they are non-Christians. It is the Christians who want to blur the lines of distinction and who are not very honest with God, themselves, and with others about these issues.
There is so much more I could share on this issue and I hope to continue to have more opportunities in the future. I have only hit the tip of the iceberg on this issue.
