What is a liberal? It is a person who has not yet dealt with a past trauma and is taking out his/her frustration out on the rest of society. Sometimes a liberal will become a college or university professor and teach whatever is against morale absolutes like feminism, homosexuality, communism, socialism, relativism, evolution, all religions are like Christianity, etc.
They (liberals) will do exactly what Satan taught Eve in the Garden of Eden. (Gen 3:5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Whatever the Bible teaches that is good a liberal will teach that it is bad. ( In other words if the Bible says that spanking your children is good, Satan will convince a liberal that spanking your child is bad). Whatever the Bible teaches is bad, a liberal will teach it is good. Satan hated God so Satan tries to work with those who he has taken captive to rebel against God. Notice this verse. (2 Tim 2:26) And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
When a person is angry at God from a past trauma, especially if they grew up in a Christian home experiencing trauma, they become unthankful because they thought their parents did something against them to hold them back in life. Many will go the opposite way of their parents. So if their parents identified themselves as conservative fundamentalists, an offended, angry child will go to the opposite extreme of their parents. (Prov 18:19) A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle. This is how liberals are sometimes made.
Let me explain this by way of a true story. I know personally of a family of six boys and one girl. They grew up in the early 1920s. The father indicated to his children that he was a conservative, Christian fundamentalist. He ruled with an iron hand and was very impatient with his children. Not at all what a true Christian fundamentalist is. If any of his children complained about the food while they were eating at the table, he would make them kneel under the table and he would kick them while he ate. That is just one of the things he would do.
One of his children became very bitter against God. When this child went off to a liberal protestant college ( I know that sounds redundant because most all protestant colleges are liberal) he was so bitter against God that he believed almost everything his liberal college professors taught him. He was mentally conditioned to become susceptible to any kind of error or rebellion that his professors would teach him. So he became pro-homosexual, anti-gospel and when he later became a pseudo pastor of a pseudo protestant church he always taught a man pleasing philosophy. Because people generally like their ears tickled he was liked by most people.
(2 Tim 4:3 KJV) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
(2 Tim 4:4 KJV) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Liberalism is a sinful disease that causes a person to think irrationally. Here is the proof. Remember years ago, when a man by the name of Bernard Goetz was accosted in a New York sub-way by several men with knives and Goetz pulled out a gun and shot all of them? The liberals began to manifest themselves by expressing their fear of being in the subways not because of the criminals with knives accosting people, but because of a law abiding citizen minding his own business who rightfully defended his life with a gun. Liberals are so primitive in their reasoning skills that when they argue for gun control it is the law abiding gun owner's rights they attack. They never speak in terms of disarming the gun toting criminal. It is the law abiding gun owner who must disarm.
Liberals also suffer from a lack of self-preservation; they are not capable of thinking independently they want the government to regulate everything because they are not capable of taking care of themselves. Whenever the government wants to raise taxes for some new program they will accept anything the government recomends. They are too lazy to check out what they are being taught because they think the big, educated, all powerfull government could never be wrong.
This is why I say that liberals cannot think rationally, coherently, and logically. They are a danger to themselves and to society.
Many centuries ago there were two groups of people called the Myans and the Incas. They were a great people who were technologically advanced. They had a system of government, commerce, agriculture, medicine and science. In fact they made beautiful observatories and pyramids.
At some point of time in their existence they became very pagan. They began sacrificing their woman and children to their pagan gods. They became intoxicated with every form of perversion that you can imagine. As the decades went by they began to loose their technology. Today remnants of these once great people in South America can be found eating off the ground ridden with disease, debauchery, and a very short life span. This is what happens when a nation rebels against God. When a nation, church, or family goes down hill it happens in steps slowly over a period of time. Their are signs that a person can see when this is happening, but we choose to become indifferent and apathetic, ignoring these signs.
(Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
How to reach and reform a liberal:

A person becomes a liberal because they were offended by a past trauma that they never dealt with. They are very difficult to reform. The Bible says to speak the truth in love. (Eph 4:1 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
A liberal is very sore. Many times they are very sensitive and nieve and have to be shown in love what is true Biblical thinking. Fundamentalism is just simply believing in the basic doctrines of the Bible before some liberal tampers with it. This is why no true Christian accepts the ecumenical movement, only liberals do. Many so called Christians do not think they are in the ecuminical movement. If you go to a church that believes in sprinkling and or allowing anyone to take the Lord's table (that is non members) then you are in fact in the ecuminical movement.
Liberals have to be shown the love and humility of Jesus Christ, especially if they are not saved. There are a lot of liberal brothers and sisters in Christ who did not have a wise upbringing. Many of them grew up in dysfunctional families who are angry and do not realize that their bitterness has affected their views on life. Sometimes they don't even realize they are bitter. They have to realize this before they can get help.
Only when a person becomes a true Christian can they then begin to think correctly. Once a person becomes a Christian then they must be discipled and taught that the Bible has something to say about every area of life. Discipling is simply teaching new converts a correct Biblical world view
