Definition of wisdom:
The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight;
common sense; good judgment.
Definition of intellect:
The ability to reason or understand; high intelligence; a very intelligent person.
Definition of intellectual:
Of or relating to the intellect; rational rather than emotional.
(Prov 10:14 KJV) Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

When Jesus spoke to the children they understood him, when Jesus spoke to the simple fishermen they understood him, when Jesus spoke to the poor widows they understood him, but when Jesus spoke to the intellectuals they got confused.
One characteristic of the modern intellectuals is if science happens to agree with the Bible then it can't be science and it cannot be taught in school. (For this very reason we have communist like schools.) For example: global flood geology is suppressed in colleges and universities. It is a fact that there is an overwhelmingly amount of geological evidence on the earth to support a global flood, but because that kind of evidence supports the Bible it is suppressed in the mainstream colleges by the modern intellectuals.
MODERN INTELLECTUALS SUPPRESSES THE TRUTH
At the time The Origin of Species was published about half of all surgical patients typically died from infections which physicians assumed arose spontaneously. It was the work of creationists like Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) and Joseph Lister (1827-1912) that proved infections are always spread, leading to the modern concept of sterile technique.
Evolutionists (your modern intellectuals) were slow to accept this discovery because evolution, ruling out creation by God, requires that life can arise by itself. IT IS A FACT WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT ORIGINS DICTATES HOW WISE OR UNWISE YOU WILL THINK ABOUT LIFE. THAT IS ANOTHER REASON WHY I AM GLAD TO BE A CHRISTIAN.
Part of being wise is having an understanding that colleges and universities spoon feed their students in humanity courses. Here is a good example two reputable colleges can teach the same history classes but because history proffessors have biases and prejudices they will teach their own interpretation of history. No two college history proffessors will agree on EVERYTHING. This is why I do my own research on history. When I do, I come to different conclusions then what students are spoon feed in there history courses. Many times my conclusions are politically incorrect and do not go along with the statusquo.
(1 Cor 1:27 KJV) But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
A true Christian should make all his or her decisions based upon the Word of God. Anything less than that is secular humanism which is based upon modern intellectualism.
Modern intellectualism is humanistic to the core. It is the belief that most decisions of life are based upon the five senses. The five senses are the ability to (1) feel, (2) smell, (3), touch, (4) hear, and (5) see. Our five senses deceive us about 80 percent of the time which is why we have lawyers, courts, politicians, measuring devices, and why scientists are wrong more times than they are right. Consequently science textbooks have to be constantly updated and rewritten. People see things differently than God. God views everything as black or white.
(Psa 55:8 - 9 KJV) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
We have an important decsion to make: do we trust the opinions of men which are wrong most of the time or do we trust the Word of God that never has to be changed or updated?
(Acts 5:29 KJV) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
I personally know of some professing Christians who trust in the opinions of men more than the teachings of God. Many of these so-called Christians subscribe to the Smithsonian, National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, etc. for their information instead of relying on the Bible first and foremost. These magazines are saturated with humanistic thought and are extremely antibiblical. These so-called Christians hold these secular magazines to a higher level than they do the very Word of God.
Many proffessing Christians also hold the book "The Purpose Driven Church" to a higher standard of thought then the Bible. We know for a fact that they do this because actions speak louder then words. For the record the book called "The purpose Driven Church" is one of the most dangerous books written in the 20th century.
The Word of God never changes. It was just as relevant in the Old and New Testament days as it is today. Any modern day revelation is adding or subtracting from the scriptures. Therefore the charismatic movement and the modern intellectual movement are heretical.
Intellectualism. According to the beliefs of many college professors you are not intellectual if you do not go along with evolutionary humanistic beliefs. For example: I personally know of some people who were threatened with academic failure if they continued to write scripture in their college papers.
For some time now the modern intellectuals have been searching for evidence of intelligent life in outer space at the expense of taxpayers' dollars. So far they have found no evidence for this.
Do you see what is so illogical about the search for non-human intelligence? If these same scientists would exchange their telescopes for microscopes and look at the cells of living creatures, they would observe the DNA making up the chromosomes. DNA is the most complex code, the most complex information system, the most complex language in the entire universe. They would look at this and say, "Chance!" Yet if they receive the simplest ordered sequences possible from outer space, they call it "intelligence."
More Proof
NASA has sent a spacecraft to Mars for research purposes. They found a huge canyon on Mars much bigger then our Grand Canyon. They say "wow, there must have been a worldwide flood on Mars." Some of the evidences for a worldwide flood on earth are: (1) canyons (including subterranean canyons), (2) fossilized fish with their fins extracted, (3) fossilized fish swallowing other fish, (4) various life found fossilized in the swimming position, (5) thousands of feet of sedimentary ocean layers on land, and (6) huge oceans that cover nearly two-thirds of the earth's surface. There is so much evidence right here on earth to indicate a worldwide flood, yet these same scientists will not admit to a worldwide flood on earth but only local floods. What fools!
(2 Pet 3:4 KJV) And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
(2 Pet 3:5 KJV) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

This means you have to be dumb on purpose to not see the geological evidences of a worldwide flood
In the face of overwhelming evidence why can't these modern intellectuals accept a worldwide flood on earth that is more scientifically obvious then a worldwide flood on Mars? It is almost like they can't see the forest because the trees are in the way.
ANSWER
Many intellectuals cannot accept the God of the Bible who judges sin. They are biased. That is a fact, end of argument, that is just the way it is, PERIOD. Wicked people who want to lie, steal, cheat, murder, hate, manipulate, commit acts of homosexuality, bestiality, child rape, etc. cannot believe in a personal loving God who judges sin and teaches absolutes. Therefore, they are left to believe in the stupidest philosophy in the world called evolution. I call these people evolution origin species thumpers.
Many times modern intellectuals ignore the obvious. For example: when the Bible says that the evening and the morning were the first day, they will say that it is not talking about a literal day. They ignore the fact that it says the evening and morning were the first day. Some of these intellectuals are so head strong with compromising the Bible that they will forget what they were taught in their science classes. If a day is as a thousand years how could anything live on this planet? Can you imagine if the planet received 500 years of sunlight and then 500 years of darkness? Photosynthesis would not work. It would get so hot in the day light hours that everything would cook. It would get so cold at night that everything would freeze to death. Where is the common sense (wisdom) in all of their reasonings? Some of the modern intellectuals lose their common sense because they try too hard to rely on their own intellect which causes them to ignore reality.
There was a time when the "intellectuals" ignored the Bible so they believed dogmatically that the Earth was flat. The Bible said all along that the earth is like a circle. Who needs the devil when some people think like that. (Isa 40:22 KJV) It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
